Men are more likely than women to be unemployed.
According to research by the U.S. Department of Labor's Bureau of Labor Statistics, for at least the year 2008, men have consistently had a higher unemployment rate every month. In November of this year, 6.7 percent of men were reportedly unemployed over the age of 20.
For that same age group, women were at 5.5 percent. And every month, the percentage of men that are unemployed has been growing. Women have stayed at around the same level since the study began.
If men keep this up, eventually it's going to be the women with the title of breadwinner.
