What are you wearing?!

What is wrong with the following image?

Answer that question however you might like. Now...what is wrong with the next picture?

Other than the crazy amount of alcohol this man must have been drinking, did you notice what he was wearing? Of course you did. If you didn't, your vision might be slightly impaired, which then I must ask why you are even reading a blog. The male in the photo is wearing a very unflattering dress, complete with heels, garters, and a beautiful hat.

In the first photo, the punk princess was wearing a tie, wallet chain, and other things typically associated with male clothing. However, she looks hip. Avril sporting a tie became a fad in girls everywhere. I don't believe that wearing floral print dresses will ever become a male fashion statement.

So, what's my point?

Woman can pretty much wear whatever they feel like wearing that day. If they are most comfortable in ratty jeans and a band tee, they can go out in public and not get any weird looks. If a male goes outside in women's clothing, he will either be treated as a homosexual or a drunk. Either way, mothers will be taking their children to the opposite side of the street while scolding them for staring. It's just not socially acceptable.

This is something that has changed over time. It used to be that women always wore dresses. Things differ greatly now. Women can wear dresses, pants, shorts, sweats, etc....whatever might be suiting their mood. Men, however, went from wearing traditional male clothing...to wearing traditional male clothing. There is no getting around it.

What does this mean?
